Video: The bits of a SAXS machine

SAXS Instrument runthrough
SAXS Instrument runthrough

This week, I decided it’s time for another short video. Since I have never actually shown a SAXS machine, I thought it’d be of interest to some to reveal the mythical beast. This instrument is a Bruker Nanostar, with a quite short flighttube. It’s one of the quintessentially standard instruments around, and can be quite decent once you get to grips with its operation and foibles.

Perhaps this video can be of use to those less familiar with SAXS, or can be used as an introductory video to instrumentation. In the near future, I hope to be able to take you through the Bonse Hart Ultra-SAXS instrument in a similar video.

Let me know what you think!
