Over the last year or so, I have spent quite some words on the Monte Carlo method for extracting (particle) size distributions from scattering data. However, it may be more illustrative to show a short video of such a fit in action, simultaneously demonstrating the new GUI.
For this demonstration, I have found a real dataset to play with (an adapted dataset from the Mg-Zn alloy measurements). The dataset can be downloaded from here.
The Monte Carlo program can be downloaded as a standalone (Windows) executable from here (Links to version 0.11.7, but please check for newer versions of the McSASGui from this list). It is still being developed so there will be bugs.
